First Week of Internship Conquered

This week Babe was my housekeeper accompanied me at Cyberjaya while I worked. He chauffeured me back and forth, and we have breakfast and dinner together! What a good life that someone can wash the dishes for me. HAHAHA. Actually sometimes I avoid washing dishes if I can because my right hand's eczema is pretty sensitive so it flares up whenever I come in direct contact with detergent, even wet wipes sometimes. I have been cooking and cleaning with gloves for some time now and so far it has been fine!

One of the thing that surprised - no, shook - me this week or probably in my entire past year was that Babe cleaned my ceiling fan while I was at work. Like??? WHAT DID I EVEN DO TO DESERVE THIS KINDNESS. T^T He said he figured that maybe I get sick sometimes is because of all the dust on my fan flying around the room.

Surprisingly, internship wasn't as boring as I thought but it was definitely more exhausting. I find myself unable to be productive after work as I just want to lie on bed and have someone cook for me because I was starving. I dabbled in shading, lighting, rendering and compositing just this one week, which is a lot for me to take in. I learnt soooo much. Often I am afraid that I won't be able to catch up or is slowing them down.

On Friday, our supervisor showed us how to set up scenes for render and it was really confusing for me. There were so many windows and steps, but per usual, I typed them all down on my phone for later reference. BUT I ACCIDENTALLY DIDN'T SAVE THE NOTE. I don't know what happened but when I looked at my phone, the page that I was typing down notes were gone. Immediately, I went into internal panic. I went to the toilet and tried to refocus my thoughts. I snapped a picture of the notes that AJ wrote (thankfully) and I sat in front of my computer absolutely lost. I think my supervisor saw that I was out of it, so he came over to show me the steps again. OTZ

By the end of the day, I was a pro at it so it all went well.

FOOD

On Tuesday, my supervisor invited us for lunch with Ben from the same department. We went all the way to Dengkil to have mixed rice...

for only RM4!!!

Everytime I go to a Chinese mixed rice stall, I WILL TAKE THE CURRY because I love the vege in it. <3 You can clearly see here that I took the same vege twice. My supervisor told me that I was chosen for Lighting and Compositing because my shading that I showed in my showreel was better than the other interns. He even asked if it was a group project. ~flattered~ HAHA.

I had lunch with my colleagues Mega and Wisnu on Thursday at Puffy Buffy. It was my first time trying out the mixed rice and it was pretty yummy! Just a tad bit expensive.

Some days I eat by myself at the office pantry. I love these quiet time to myself, immersing myself in books that are in the pantry. For now I am reading a National Geographic magazine. But the problem with bringing my own food is that I finish them way too fast and I'm left with like 45 mins to chill. So sometimes I go back to my desk to surf the net on my phone or just to lay my head down and rest my eyes.

Ben offered this snack and I took it because I have seen friends post it on their Instagram, but I have never ever ate it before. Safe to say it is a cheesy version of Shiroi Koibito.

Some days, Babe and I went to IOI City Mall after work to get some stuff. I liked the vege mayo bowl from Sukiya and I was craving for curry rice that time, so I went with vege curry rice! The portion was pretty small but it actually filled me up good.

We also have been trying out new recipes, which was our goal for this few weeks that we will be living together. First up - pan-fried potatoes!

We were trying to do some kind of roasted potatoes but we wanted something quick as we didn't have much ingredients too. It turned out quite delicious that I was surprised! We followed Gordon Ramsay's recipe, minus the olive oil and rosemary. We used normal unfancy cooking oil. =P

Next : glazed carrotssss

I found a simple recipe on Youtube that used baby carrots, but we only had normal carrots so we cut it small to imitate baby carrots. OK, I know they probably taste a bit different but we gotta do what we gotta do! Honestly I was a bit afraid that it will turn out yucky but it was quite alright. Would prefer the carrots to be al dente because we cooked it a little bit too much. The carrots were floating up one by one when we were boiling them, so I said to him "I think we should stop because they are floating while means they are cooked..." but he said we can still leave it in because when we poked it with the fork, it feels pretty tough. It really did came out cooked. XD

SHOPPING

There is a shop in IOI City Mall that only sells free-size clothes, which puzzled me. But because I was intrigued and the clothes seemed pretty decent in style, I decided to try them on while Babe was queuing for the ATM. It's called QQ and is a floor below the cinema if I remember correctly.

Most of the clothes I tried on was at least a size bigger than my size, so sad. But! I found a gorgeous flowy dress that was exactly my size!! I was so excited and bought it straight away. Btw I am not someone that buys clothes without consulting anyone first, especially my Mom and Sis, because I need some advice, but this, I just have to have it. It's what I have been waiting for.

Even fam approves <3

It's so doll-like and dance-able; it's a dream. The cut, the colour - super love~

Saturday, my fam and I went to Sunway and I managed to find a simple grey top for RM30. I liked the white one too but as with white clothes, they are mostly see-through, so I forwent it. Besides, Mom said the grey one looks better!

We went to Summit as well and after visiting second-hand shops, I found this jewel!

I told Mom it looks like the dresses my Popo (Grandma) would wear during her young days, along with tall socks. She laughed at me. This dress realized a goal for me - when I go to Japan, I can look for retro clothes in second hand shops! Perhaps I can find more dresses like this!
