Sewing Class!

So, today we started our sewing class at where we had art classes and worked. We have so much connection to that centre, we just keep coming back. For RM250, we get to make a bag, a pencil box thing and a purse, all entirely up to how you want to make it, which I think is a really good deal. And so I set off with my ang pau money!

Feels so fulfilling paying by myself.

We had to learn how to put in a thread to the machine, how to hook the thread to the needle, basic stuff first. Then we learnt how to sew straight lines on a paper, and also how to sew a square. I don't know how people in movies can run their fingers under the needle because it is just so impossible, unless you were really reckless or suicidal. Sewing is therapeutic, I can feel my mind flying off somewhere, which is probably not a good idea if I want to concentrate.

Drawing the template that I've created onto the fabric.
Btw, I'm making a bag that can fit my laptop.

Tracing the shape to the cream coloured fabric which will be the cloth inside the bag.

Internal pocket on the left.
This was after I stuck a piece of fabric that has iron on glue on one side so that the cloth can be harder and sturdier.

So that's about all! We'll go again tomorrow~

Btw I ate fried chicken feet yesterday, my first time. It was disgusting at first to be honest. They look too much like human fingers. I really wanted to gag and stop eating but I thought no, I must honour the chicken who died for us. T^T
