Dress In The Making

Finally almost finished my bag sewing class and now starting on a dress sewing class. So far I'm excited for the dress because it looks pretty good drawing down the measurements. After we get down the basics, we can practically do anything lol.

My dress is like a feedsack dress with a modern twist. I love feedsack dresses because they look cute and a little silly. This will also be my first time having a custom made everyday outfit, ironically made by myself.

The teacher taught us how to measure our body and she said that our measurements are like plumper people but we don't look plump lol. I think it's because of our height. So, I've always been wondering why my body looks like a square when I wear tops and now I found the answer; it really is a square. My shoulders and spine are the same length lol. But! I found out that my legs are longer than the usual because 18 inches from my waist is still some distance from my knees while usually it should almost already reach the knees, so that's good too, to balance my box body hahaha!

I can't help remembering myself as being the heroine in Be My Princess, the otome game I played for 2 years but now stopped, because the heroine was a fashion designer.

Only thing left for my bag sewing is to hand sew the edge of the purse to the buckle, which is making my fingers cry. I stabbed myself countless times, on the back and front of the needle likewise. No pain, no gain, basically. The cloth is too freaking thick!

  1. My mum made a lot of those dresses back in the day, very early 90's or even more.
