To be honest I didn't expect much since it was aimed for kids and I understand that the local animation industry is still developing. But by the end of the movie, I was touched and had a sense of fulfillment which I didn't feel for the recent movies that I watched. And so I found myself searching for their soundtracks right after I get back to the hostel.
Even though the visual of the movie wasn't as advanced as that of more developed industry, the storyline redeemed it. The main character, BoBoiBoy, was my favourite!! He's so cool when he splits into his multiple selves. Ying, his friend, was pretty cute~ Her voice, hahaha. So high pitch. And omg I don't like Gopal; he's so helpless and kind of a bother! OTZ
For some reason, we all thought the movie was good. I couldn't pinpoint what specifically made me like it but I just do. The fighting was nice but too much of it at one point. I noticed the motion blur a lot when they were trying to make an 'big impact' kind of look. That was kind of annoying because it disoriented me.
Oh, when you watch, keep a look out for MMU's logo at the beginning when he was chasing the thieves. I think it came out thrice. And check out Masih Disini, their OST! It was uploaded to Youtube yesterday and already had 40 000 views. I check it out this morning again and it had an additional 20 000 views which was pretty impressive.
Overall, good job!! I enjoyed it especially at the end. I almost feel asleep in the middle because I'm tired from studying and also too much fight scenes haha. I also liked when Ying and Fang spoke Mandarin because that was so random. Coming from the same university as the creators, I wondered if I can be as good as them in the future. They surprisingly had a short credits which is surprising because it had surprisingly few people working on it than as expected.
Was so tired after the evening out that I slept at 11pm. I'm practically free now because all assignments had been submitted and only 2 more exams to go! So, go check out the movie. :P I would say it is suitable and relatable for all ages~
