JC Night was held on the 8th of January, on a Thursday night, and it was raining that night. It was also during the mid-term exams so that probably explains why there were lesser audience that anticipated. The promotion for the event was weak as well; we'll try better next time!
Am starting my second semester and if I don't complete this post now, I don't think I ever will! XD This ambitious feeling is amazing. It's raining very, very heavily outside and it's 5:30pm and I have nothing to do in the meantime. Waiting for swim club at 8pm.
Japanese Cultural Night (JC Night)
This year's theme is Hotaru, which means 'firefly'.
Our sneak peek pic
Even though JC Night is just this January, it felt like a long time ago.
It was a Thursday and I had VRC for 4 hours after lunch but I had to skip that day's VRC because I have to prepare for JC Night.
First off, selfies before make up and everything else!
Eli
<< Me | >> Sis
With a beautiful poster. *sigh*
Preparatory stage next~ Miranda helped the guys do their make up and partially for the girls.
Behind the scene
I tied my hair first and then took pictures again. Too excited and happy not to!
Yau
Ahh, the memories~ When he was still in MMU.
Ken
I look like his big sister omg... Even though he is older than me by a year.
Aarun
Beware, spam pictures below.
His teeth so white...
And his pretty eyes...
"Banyak pattern la ni." - Aarun.
I did most of my make up by myself, which left only the brows for Miranda to draw on for me. I rubbed some off though because it was too dark. >.< Infinite struggle in drawings brows... I never had decent drawn on eyebrows! It always looks super thick and dark. :(
I always prefer my without-make-up look. Maybe it's because I'm not good at make up. Nothing is ever easy with make up...
Trio group photo!
I remembered being nervous before our performance because it has been such a long time since I last performed. We were the first performers which made me even more nervous at being given such a great honour. The stage was still lighted when we stepped on stage and I didn't know how to feel when I climbed the steps onto the stage.
"How will Giang they all feel?"
"Can they see me now?"
"How will our performance look like? Will it be great? Will I make mistakes?"
"Will we be OK?"
"Will we be synchronized?"
Up on the stage, we stood in a line for the opening segment of LAMB, our debut dance. It has been about a year since sis and I learnt LAMB and finally we got to perform it! I was beyond glad. I never thought this dance will see the light. When the music came on, I had to dance and then my anxiety slowly went away as I looked at the front few chairs of people whom were smiling.
Then I had fun. Though it was admittedly a little awkward with the Drama segment people standing by the side of the stage and I could see them looking at us lol. While I changed position to the other side of the stage, I saw Aarun they all standing behind a divider at the side of the stage and Aarun nodded his head and gave encouragements in his own way. It made me feel more confident and happy.
In a flash, it was over. We bowed and exited the stage, Aarun they all lending themselves as the escort to escort us back to the performers' room haha. When I was off stage, I kept scanning the crowd to see Giang they all but I could because it was too dark. Aarun was behind me and put out his hand in an escorting gesture, his yukata sleeves hanging on his forearms.
Feel so comfy.
Hahaha.
The Singing segment after that, pretty lights~
Performers' room
There were some people who were supposed to help in the perfomers' room and as an escort to the performers, but they were no way to be seen. I knew some of them and I saw them standing out the room and looking at the stage performances or just strolling/standing around...
The rest of the dance team have to prepare for their next dance - Traditional Senbonzakura - and since I only have one dance, I went out and find for Giang they all. I was told to seat at the back seats like performers have to and coincidentally Giang they all were sitting at the back seats too. I sat a few seats away from them and nobody really talked, lol it was so awkward. I didn't know how to feel, a little shy, as it was my first time wearing make up and wearing so cutely in front of them.
After a while, Giang took out his phone and asked me to hold it so we could all selfie haha. It was so hard for me to squeeze four people in the frame... Edmund then gave me three presents and asked me to give one to sis and one to Panda, so one is for me. On Christmas, I jokingly asked for a Christmas present and then he really bought it! OTZ
Aarun's face was so scary and stoic when he was dancing Senbonzakura omg. When he entered the stage, there was a bunch of people screaming "Aarun!!!" which I now think could be his housemates. Eli's name was screamed too.
Boku ni Invitation was one of the later performances, which consisted of everyone on the dance team except me because I was the latest to join them. Miranda choreographed Boku ni Invitation. Everyone loved it! It was cute and a little cheesy.
When Ken came on stage for that dance, the three of them (Giang, Edmund and James) got super excited and kept shouting his name omg. I was shocked.
"Omg Ken so handsome!"
"Ahh Ken so awesome!"
"Looks so smart!"
And they kept going on at it. Giang asked if they can take photos afterwards because they have to go back soon, but I didn't think so. I told them to go to the side of the Multipurpose Hall which is where the performers' room was located and we would take photos outside.
After the dance finished, I ran to Ken and sis and told them about the plan. We went to the room and I opened the door but instead of staying outside, Giang pushed his way in instead. I was freaking out in case anyone saw because no one is supposed to enter. Then we snap, snap, snap some pictures!
(From left) Sis, Edmund, Giang, Ken, me, James, Panda
Mostly they are fascinated that Ken is wearing something so smart, and probably also that he is wearing make up. I find it cute that they are so excited to see him haha! When asked how was the dances, James immediately answered something along the lines of "juicy" (couldn't remember others clearly because the word caught me off-guard).
Kalafina came too!
I got there card and pictures with them~ Their singing is awesome! The harmony, the high notes, the soft notes; everything is so heavenly!
So mesmerized by the lights...
It was also my first time dancing with spotlights. ^.^
I'm currently sitting by myself in the hostel room in my swimming suit. Just came out from the bathe and blow drying my hair with the fan. Nooo, I only have one towel! T^T
Present from Edmund! It's a pencil holder, the cup kind.
I'm using it now! So practical.
Kah Loon
Twinnie
Aarun
I have no idea why he suddenly so tall.
Oh yeah, I remembered there were no helpers in the room so I went in and helped them prepare for Boku ni Invitation. Mostly I helped Aarun because he had no one to help him then. I took a bow and latched it around his collar and I was so damn nervous wtf. I have not been this close to guys before and I was fidgeting and trying not to accidentally strangle or hurt him. Then sis and I folded him super tight sleeves up his arms.
Ken
Panda
Wan Ping!
Missing her now! T^T She's having her intern.
Omg I can feel the happiness and chaos in the pictures. Missing those moments badly...

(Also sis's classmate~)
The bunch of us went out for supper after that! In our make up and all.
Notice how fab Aarun and Convic (last two on the right) looked.
Motivation losing already, but it was a very fun event! One of my happiest moments in uni!
OK, this post is settled like finally!
