I did an origami today (butterfly box) and a CNY craft that my aunt Apple tagged us in (fish). I finally got to use my Yuzen paper. I made just one fish and then Elena joined me in making the boxes, in which later I realized the vast development of her fine motor skills. I am so proud of her! You know when you see kids doing complicated crafts and you just can't help but keep wanting to help them or something, but whenever I wanted to help her, she has got it already. Well, mostly.bI was quite surprised how she was able to follow the video and do it. I even let her cut the paper by herself with a little aid from me.
I will be putting up some old pictures - re-caping because I didn't get to do it on the day itself haha.
The fish and butterfly boxes~
Black one is Elena's and the golden one is mine.
Can't see the difference omg.
Yuzen paper and template for the fish which I traced over my laptop screen.
DIY-ing following instructions from a Youtube video.
Last Monday, Ken drove us (Giang, sis and I) out to Starbucks and we studied there. Like I actually read the whole notes for Creative Studies there. Giang bought coffee and the rest of us didn't buy anything because we were trying to save money for the Japan trip. I was so close to getting a Green Tea Frappuccino, so close. But then I stopped myself.
Actually one of the reasons I can study diligently is because I can't surf the net hahaha. Only one user can use the line per receipt, but then I didn't mind because I didn't buy anything. I was so bored. OTZ The receipt allows us to get our next order for 50% off and so Giang went and bought one more for all of us to share.
Ta-daaa, Raspberry Mocha (or Chocolate lol).
I am not well-versed in Starbucks language.
Aim for the cream.
Friendship - sharing is caring.
Actually the drink tasted a little like medicine because of the raspberry and Giang was like "OK, you can have all of it." Like this la now. But we all made it in the end.
The water I got (I didn't bring my bottle with me...).
'Fion xP' written by Giang.
This Giang was on his laptop doing some of his things and then surfed the net while the three of us studied. And when we are finally finished, he started really studying and then couldn't concentrate anymore lol.
Then we went for dinner, so beaten.
Sunsetting
We went to a typical Chinese restaurant where we call the dishes and ate rice. A really nice day out!
So my sem is basically over now and I see these remnants of my assignments process and just felt sad suddenly. But I think I'm gonna use it again for some other sem, maybe, so I probably shouldn't be so sad. Actually the sad part lies in the part where I gave away the 'My Self' assignment. The lecturers said that when you do your assignments, in the end your artworks doesn't belong to you even though you are the ones that invested time and money and effort. It's kind of depressing really.
Whenever I look at this palette, I think of 'My Self' and the time I spent completing the artwork and my first overnight.
